At Nature Nate’s, our people are truly the heart of our company. Behind every bottle and every transaction, there is a dedicated team member who makes it possible for us to serve the highest-quality honey to your family. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce to you one of our most caring, passionate and kind-hearted team members.
Meet Amy, People Partner at Nature Nate’s Honey Co.
Q: How would you describe your role on the Nature Nate’s team?
I feel like my title really says it all. I’m a partner to people. From benefits enrollment to talent acquisition, it’s my job to work through a variety of HR– related tasks with our folks across departments. I’m passionate about making complex ideas easily understood to better someone else’s experience. The absolute best part of my job is the endless opportunities to help others. Since our team works on a multitude of projects, each day is different and that is something I really appreciate. Sometimes it’s pulling together fun celebrations that support our unique culture and other times it’s ensuring our internal policies meet new federal regulations. Not always glamorous, but I can see the value in both, and that allows me to feel proud of my daily contributions. So much of my role is supportive, and my sincere hope is that everyone I work with knows that I’m here to help. There can be an assumption that if you hear from your HR rep, it’s only bad news. I strive to squash that and do my best to represent the heart of Nature Nate’s through serving others well.
Q: As a company, we strive to be leaders, whether in honey, on our team or in our community. How do you see yourself contributing to these high standards?
People are truly our priority on my team. We regularly meet to work through ideas on how we can better support others in the Nature Nate’s family and beyond. This creates a missional mindset for our team, which drives our thought process to discover solutions. I’m usually in the background making sure the ideas we’ve chosen to implement go off without a hitch, which is a place I love to be. I am most at home when someone I’ve worked with behind the scenes finds success. It’s such a personal blessing to work with teams across Nature Nate’s.
Q: The Nature Nate’s family implements a set of core values called the Bee Attitudes. Is there a specific attitude you strive to implement?
I do my best to Bee Loving every day. I regularly remind myself that, “We seek to be a loving community that serves our families, teammates, customers and vendors with kindness.” Since my role is people focused, I’m either talking with folks directly or working on projects that impact our teams every single day. That’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and I want the interactions I have to be centered on kindness and understanding. Love often seems like a strange word in the context of a workplace, but God calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31). I choose to think of the wonderful people through that lens, so for me, that means intentionally caring for the individuals God has placed in my path in every situation.
Q: What is something you want people to know about Nature Nate’s that they might not know from just looking at our orange label?
When I’m recruiting, I am always quick to share one of my favorite quotes from Nathan: “Honey is our business, but our purpose is to positively impact others.” This perfectly paints the picture of why so many folks are drawn to Nature Nate’s. Each of us, no matter if we work in Production or Accounting, contributes to this awesome product getting to a store shelf, where it makes its way into someone’s home and becomes something they feed to their families. There’s a weight to that and I’m proud that our consumers can be confident that our people understand the potential impact each bottle can have on another person. I am grateful for the people who make this company what it is and for the opportunity to be part of the great things they’re doing.
